Other information about the area; Shimba Hills National Reserve is a game park that's about a 30-minute drive from Kaya Waa. It offers nature walks and an Elephant and Giraffe sanctuary in addition to other game. Diani Beach Town is 15 km from Kaya Waa and offers nice public beaches, restaurants supermarkets and a post office. Mombasa is the largest city on the Kenyan coast and home to restaurants, Moi International airport, museums, hotels, casinos and nightlife. It is a 30-minute drive from Kaya Waa. Shimoni & Wasini Islands are home to the Kisite National Marine Park. Shimoni is a village at the end of a small peninsula about 75 km south of Likoni and Wasini is a small island just off the peninsula. There are no cars, running water or wired electricity on Wasini making it a great place to visit for those seeking untouched African life. Kisite National Marine Park is ideal for snorkeling. It's an offshore park and visitors must book passage in Shimoni. 

The local tribe is the Digo and they are a gentle and mystical tribe.
